Ralston Center 's mission is to foster services, programs, education and research that address the health and quality of life of older adults. Ralston Center sponsors the Awards Program in Geriatrics to bring attention to the important role Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) play in healthcare for the elderly.

"Our goal is to honor a job well done by professionals whose hard work often goes unnoticed," stated Francis R. Strawbridge, President of the Ralston Center Board of Managers.

Thomas S. Rittenhouse, Managing Director of Ralston Center, notes that "the Awards Program in Geriatrics continues Ralston Center 's long history of service to the elderly." Founded in 1817 as the Indigent Widows and Single Women's Society by Sarah Ralston, today Ralston Center 's Wellness Program provides a variety of fitness classes, workshops and seminars on a wide range of topics of interest to older adults.
