Ralston House Restoration Complete
The restoration of Ralston House, home to Ralston Center and other Geriatric health and medical programs, is now complete. During the past two years the exterior of the historically-certified building has been extensively refurbished.
Renovation of the 120-year-old building included installation of a new roof; cleaning, pointing, replacement and consolidation of bricks and stone trim; wood consolidation; replacement and recoating on all windows, dormers and wall decor; installation of new gutters and spouts. All the work was performed in accordance with specifications for historically certified buildings.
"The Board of Managers of Ralston Center takes great pride in fulfilling its responsibility to maintain the physical well being of this great historic building," stated Frank Strawbridge, Board President. "Its beauty and the significant role Ralston House has played in Philadelphia's care for the elderly demands that we preserve its existence with the utmost care and diligence."
